Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 26 October 2026
These Terms govern your access to and use of FloorMate. By using the website or app, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
1. Agreement
These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) form a binding agreement between you and the operators of FloorMate (“FloorMate”, “we”, “us”) for use of FloorMate at floormate.online, app.floormate.online, and related services (together, the “Service”).
If you use FloorMate on behalf of a building, association, or other group, you confirm you have authority to accept these Terms for that use. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. What FloorMate is
FloorMate is a software service that helps residents and building managers coordinate neighbourhood and builder-floor life. Features may include membership and roles, notices, maintenance workflows, finance or ledger tools, community communications, and related neighbourhood discovery features. Features may change, expand, or be discontinued over time.
FloorMate is a technology platform. It is not a bank, payment gateway, chartered accountant, lawyer, housing society registrar, or government authority. Any financial, legal, or compliance decisions for your building remain your (or your building admins’) responsibility.
3. Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
- You must provide accurate registration information and keep it updated.
- You must have lawful authority to join a building space and to enter any data you submit about others.
4. Accounts and security
You are responsible for activity under your account. Keep OTP codes, email magic links, devices, and passwords (if any) confidential. Notify us promptly at info@floormate.online if you suspect unauthorised access.
We may suspend or restrict accounts that appear compromised, abusive, or in breach of these Terms.
5. Roles, permissions, and building data
FloorMate uses roles and permissions (for example building admin, flat head, member, tenant, or other roles we may introduce). What you can view or change depends on those permissions.
- Building admins are responsible for configuring building settings, managing access where the product allows, and ensuring operational data they enter is accurate and lawful.
- Flat heads and members must use the Service only within their authorised scope and must not attempt to access another unit’s private information without permission.
- Data entered into ledgers, payment records, maintenance logs, or household profiles is user- and building-generated content. FloorMate does not independently verify every entry.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Break any applicable law or regulation
- Harass, threaten, defame, or discriminate against others
- Upload malware, scrape the Service without permission, or attempt to bypass security
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent your role in a building
- Use the Service to spam, phish, or conduct fraud
- Interfere with other users’ access or with FloorMate infrastructure
- Record or share sensitive personal data of others without a lawful basis and a legitimate building purpose
- Reverse engineer the Service except where applicable law expressly allows
7. Your content
You retain rights in content you submit (for example notices, messages, images, and records). You grant FloorMate a worldwide, non-exclusive licence to host, process, transmit, display, and back up that content solely as needed to operate and improve the Service and as otherwise described in the Privacy Policy.
You confirm that your content does not infringe others’ rights and that you have permission to submit it. We may remove content that violates these Terms or applicable law.
8. Building finance and operational tools
If your building uses expense, ledger, collection, or related tools, those features are provided as organisational aids. They do not replace professional accounting, audit, tax, or legal advice. Amounts, dues, receipts, and reports reflect data entered by authorised users. Disputes about building money or maintenance obligations must be resolved among the building’s stakeholders; FloorMate is not a party to those disputes unless we expressly agree in writing.
9. Third-party services
The Service may rely on third parties for authentication, hosting, messaging, push delivery, maps, fonts, or payments. Their terms and privacy policies apply to their services. Outages or changes at those providers may affect FloorMate availability.
10. Fees
Some parts of FloorMate may be free; others may become paid plans or building subscriptions. If fees apply, we will present pricing and billing terms before you purchase. Taxes may apply as required by law. Failure to pay may result in suspension of paid features.
11. Intellectual property
FloorMate’s software, branding, design, documentation, and related materials are owned by us or our licensors. Except for the limited right to use the Service under these Terms, no licence is granted. You may not copy, modify, or redistribute our materials without prior written permission.
12. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” BASIS TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. WE DISCLAIM WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE OPERATION, EXCEPT WHERE SUCH DISCLAIMERS ARE NOT ALLOWED.
We do not warrant that building data entered by users is complete or accurate, or that the Service will meet every operational, legal, or financial requirement of your building.
13. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, FloorMate and its operators, officers, and suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, business interruption, or building financial discrepancies arising from use of the Service.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability for claims relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the Service in the three (3) months before the claim, or (b) INR 5,000.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under Indian law (for example, liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence, where such exclusion is prohibited).
14. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless FloorMate from claims, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your content, your misuse of the Service, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of others’ rights — including claims related to building data you or your building admins entered.
15. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or if needed to protect the Service or other users. Provisions that by nature should survive (including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnity) will survive termination.
16. Changes to the Service or Terms
We may update the Service and these Terms. The “Last updated” date will change when Terms are revised. If changes are material, we may provide additional notice through the website, app, or email. Continued use after the effective date of updated Terms constitutes acceptance, to the extent permitted by law.
17. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts of competent jurisdiction in India shall have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service, subject to any mandatory consumer-protection rights that apply to you.
Before filing a formal dispute, please contact us at info@floormate.online so we can try to resolve the issue informally.
18. General
- If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
- Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver.
- You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a reorganisation or sale.
- These Terms are the entire agreement regarding the Service, superseding prior conflicting terms on the same subject.
